Julien is a protégé student of three mighty and fundamentally different world famous guitar players:

John Marlo , Segovia Masterclass

Paul Wingo, US Army Blues

Rick Whitehead, US Air Force Airmen of Note.

As such his style is a unique blend of the three plus one more.

His biggest influence and reason for playing guitar was hearing Eddie Van Halen in 1983. It was an instant decision to then be a guitar player. The best he could.

Julien has largely stopped listening to guitar players and after many years of experimenting has developed techniques previously only used, or thought possible by other instruments, and is extremely versatile. Miles Davis has been a strong influence, musically.

He also runs an Animal Assisted Therapy urban farm. He is married to Genendy, a well known activist in the field of raising awareness about child abuse. They have 3 children 2 dogs a cat, and several other animals.

Their oldest son is entirely self taught, and was able to memorize entire Bach cello suites at a young age with no formal training, by ear, with very little experience, and is considered a musical genius.

 After school Julien played professionally for about 2 years then became a computer system engineer, eventually to work in banking security and rose to the top ranks of his profession before returning to music professionally in 2013 with Blackout. In 2020 he again unretired seeing many silver lining opportunities due to the Covid crisis. Over the years he has played stages in Las Vegas, China, and Washington D.C, Be'er Sheva, Tel Aviv, and Jerusalem. 

He has numerous recordings of his own and has participated as a session musician periodically since 1988 in fine studios.
